Using the wrong calibration method for occasional ethanol (alcohol) detection, or directly testing with liquid alcohol without standard gas, may lead to sensor damage and distorted data! This practical guide helps you avoid all pitfalls and complete ethanol detection accurately!
01 Key Points for Ethanol Detection Sensor Calibration (For Ethanol Measurement Only)
1. Sensor Selection Priority Principle
For ethanol-only measurement, a special alcohol sensor is recommended; if comprehensive measurement is required with occasional ethanol detection, calibrate promptly in accordance with the following specifications:
Calibration Gas: Ethanol concentration < 100 ppm
Gas Flow Rate: 300 ml/min
Ventilation Duration: Maximum 3 minutes of continuous venting
Operation Taboo: During calibration, do not direct the gas flow towards the air inlet
Correct Operation: Use a side air inlet positioned at a 90-degree angle to the air inlet, ensuring the sensor operates in a diffuse measurement state to avoid flow shocks

02 Alternative Testing Method Without Standard Gas (Use with Caution!)
If standard ethanol gas is not available for sensor testing/calibration and liquid alcohol is used instead, pay close attention to the following details:
1. Risk Warning for Liquid Alcohol Volatilization
2. Absolute Taboo Operation
3. Last Resort Dilution Steps (For Relative Calibration/Testing Only)
