IR Sensor Signal Zero? 1s Sampling + 2-Point Cal

Friends engaged in equipment R&D or testing must have encountered situations where infrared sensors are "uncooperative": communicating immediately after startup, resulting in erratic data; damaging the sensor directly due to neglecting power supply requirements; sudden "zero signal" during signal acquisition, with no cause found even after a long period of troubleshooting.

 

01 infrared Sensor Startup and Power Supply

03 Infrared Sensor Signal Acquisition

the sensor has both voltage output and serial output. Collecting digital signals can be calibrated directly to the sensor. Sensors need to calibrate the zero point and sensitivity for long-term use.

the collection of digital signals recommended time interval is set to 1 second, if the collection of digital signals is too short a time interval will appear to run zero phenomenon. Time is too short, the sensor has not output data is one of the reasons.

the sensor is a two-point calibration, respectively, calibration zero and sensitivity, according to the use of different ranges, you can choose two calibration points to calibrate the sensitivity. Calibration of the gas cap must be with inlet and outlet holes, because infrared detection does not consume gas, so there must be an outlet hole, and the space of the gas cap should be as small as possible. To achieve good detection results, we must ensure that the standard gas filled gas cap, gas cap small can be a good saving standard gas;

 

04 Infrared Sensor Protection

the product design structure should be considered when the sensor part of the protection, to prevent the sensor's permeable membrane or explosion-proof filters are blocked by oil and other pollutants. You can consider adding PTFE filter membrane and protective cover. PTFE filter membrane has good waterproof, can prevent water splashing into the sensor inside; protective cover can be better dustproof. The waterproof and breathable film comes standard with the first purchase of each sensor, and is already attached to the sensor's air inlet holes, so it is not recommended to remove it.
